Puente Hills Test Plot
Activating a trailhead to a new landfill park

Enter the gravel parking lot. If the gate is closed, you can park across the street at the Shabarum Skyline trailhead into the Puente Hills regional park.
Through this plot, we’re engaging with high school students from the San Gabriel Valley, east of LA to develop a new Test Plot at the Workman Mill Road Staging Area. The plot will trial planting and land management strategies for the future Puente Hills Regional Park. Our partners include Studio-MLA and Youth@Work (YAW), a workforce development program for San Gabriel Valley youth in the Basset and Hacienda-La Puente Unified School Districts. The work is supported by Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation and the Los Angeles County Department of Economic Opportunity.
